Succasunna man wins Freedom House 5K Run at Spruce Run

The Freedom House 5K Run & Walk on Saturday, May 3 attracted almost 150 participants.

The inaugural Freedom House 5K Run & Walk at Spruce Run Recreation Area on Saturday morning May 3, attracted almost 150 participants. It was a benefit for The Family Afterward, a Freedom House program.

Overall winner was Joseph Rusyn, 20, of Succasunna, who crossed the finish line at 18 minutes, 39.9 seconds. He was followed by Christian Treitler, 52, of Woodcliff Lake at 19:25.2 and then Joseph Wysocki, 38, of Asbury at 19:54.6

The11th finisher overall and first female in was a13-year-old Hillsborough girl, Diana Voronin, at 23:32.

The fundraiser cost $25 for adults to ends,$10 for kids 6-10 and free for those under. Timing and scoring was by BEST Racing Systems; here are complete race results.
